About Me

Justin Seto is a counsellor in private practice. He has worked with people with disabilities and mental health issues in the local community for several years. Throughout this time he has gained a strong understanding of the barriers that confront people from disadvantaged backgrounds trying to make positive and meaningful changes in their lives. Recently Justin has also been working with clients struggling with Alcohol and Other Drugs.

Justin's background working with people with disabilities includes working for a year as a Support Worker supporting Employees with a disability to maintain open employment by providing workplace support. He also currently works as an Assessor on the National Panel of Assessors delivering Ongoing Support Assessments and Supported Wage Assessments in the disability employment sector.

Justin is passionate about journeying with people as they experience the difficulties of life which can sometimes seem very overwhelming. He believes that by providing a safe and contained environment for people to be able to let everything out without any ramifications and joining with them to work towards their desired outcomes, they are able to experience a small respite that can give them the opportunity to become empowered to make long-lasting positive and meaningful change. He believes that building up a strong working relationship with his clients is the most important factor to being able to assist clients overcome their barriers and move towards their desired outcomes.

Justin takes a client-centred approach to his counselling. He understands that what is effective for one client may not be effective for another client. As such he focuses on delivering individualised care and focuses on working with his clients towards their desired outcomes in a way that will work for them. To maintain this flexibility he incorporates a broad range of theories in his counselling including but not limited to – Narrative Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person-centred Therapy and Strengths-based Therapy.

Justin enjoys connecting with clients in a meaningful way and has found journeying with them to be a rewarding process.
